Simon

According to Nathan, his name is Simon. He's a 3 (?) year old "bassador." That's a really freaky cross between a basset hound and a labrador retriever. You can't help but stare at him. His coat is shiny and primarily black, with a touch of chocolate on his head. He weighs 55 pounds and has a very gentle demeanor. He moves incredibly slow and can be stubborn. So far, it's been an easy transition into our family - Emma seems to like him and isn't afraid of him. If fact, she's actually the dominant dog at this moment. Max isn't upset - she doesn't interact with him, of course, but she's not hissing or striking him. Simon is not phased by anything or anyone. He's calm, nonchalant, and just happy to look at everyone.

Hi Cindy! I love your blog what a great idea! I used to have a basset hound lab mix. We called her Flipper!

I was so disappointed we didn't visit. We were just to stressed out about getting back and getting ready for school. I couldn't believe all the paper work to do, school supplies to buy, and meetings to attend for Dylan's school!!

Anyway, he loves going. I really like his teacher! He is doing well but is refusing to participate in outdoor activities opting to hide in his mouse hole under the sand table. "It's too hot to play outside!" he says. And you know he is right. He is really a very sensible kid!

Pete will be impressed by your compost bin and garden. Nice work!

Hope all is well! We miss you!
