Swimming Lessons

Nathan is making great progress in the Tadpole 2 class at our local pool. He can stick his head (all of it!) under water for the count of 3 alligators. With the help of the teacher, he does front and back kicks. And tonight he picked up a ring underneath the water! I can't get very good pictures of him because they make the parents watch from the outside (part of modern swim education theory). But here's a glimpse:

Nathan and Cindy hanging out at the pool. A good place to be on a hot, humid day.

I think the reply thing will work this time.

not much time for more as I have tee time at 9 for the City Tournament. More later.

Swimming -- good thing to learn. When I was learning (30+ yrs old) -- practice, practice. Lap swimming a great workout.

Composting -- great for the environment. When I did it -biweekly turning helped and no sticks. Worms will find their way to the pile -- they did at my Yuma avenue address. I now have a compost bin in my basement for kitchen food waste (veggie, fruit waste where the worms have been eating and producing waste (compost) for about 6-8 wks. My rubber tub is filling up - I am thinking of dumping it to bare areas in my yard and then seeding some grass come the fall rainy season.

This afternoon a stop at Linda/Robin's place. Frankie, their basset was her usually lazy self. Sniff my leg and back to the shade to lie down. Simon is a perfect low energy dog who I bet loves to just relax as you're reading or coloring or whatever.

fatigue setting in
81 holes of golf in 4 days is tiring, but I came home w/some prizes:
1) $40 certificate from Iowa Beef Assoc. for purchase of beef at meat counter or a resturant.

2) A hat rack -- piece of finished oak w/four 6 iron heads mounted like hooks. This will go on a wall and I can hang caps of jackets.

3) Two rounds of golf at a DM course

and

4) $20 certificate to JAX for some cool clothing.

Wednesday morning off to South Dakota.

everybody have a good week.
